Framed Chalkboard

I know I'm a little behind in the chalkboard game, but I finally found the perfect frame for one!
My favorite thrift store was having a 50% off sale and this frame was part of it.  It had a canvas in it and the lady thought that is why I bought it.  Of course I didn't tell her the truth, that I just wanted the frame!
Gold is definitely not my thing so some white spray paint to the rescue!  My hubby cut me a piece of wood and I painted on the chalkboard paint.
It's sitting on my buffet in the bonus room where I have it decorated for winter.  I quickly added a sweet little chalk drawing.
I can't wait to change it with the holidays, seasons and meals!  I will also be investing in some fancy chalk and practicing my lettering skills.
We also just got a vintage inspired record player and now we are always record shopping it seems!  I've already bought some fun Christmas albums that I can't wait to listen to next Christmas.

Embroidery Hoop Wreath

On a recent trip to the thrift store, I saw an embroidery hoop and decided to pick it up for 99¢, not knowing what I would do with it.
Some Pinterest searches made me wish I would have bought more than 1 so I guess I will be going back for a few more soon!  Here is what I decided to do with this one.

I stained the hoop, added a strip of fabric that I hand wrote HOME on, added a big frosted white rose and a lace bow to the top.  It looks perfect inside my white frame.

I will probably re-do the lettering but for a quick little craft, this turned out pretty cute I think!
We finally got our floors done and once we get the trim up, I can't wait to share our newest home makeover with you!

Farmhouse Box Shelf

I love it when I see something (most likely on Pinterest) that I instantly fall in love with and want to make.  It's even better when I have everything I need to make it!
My parents made these box shelves for me for Christmas many years ago.  They are a little too shiny for my taste so I sanded them down to get rid of the shine.
We have lots of chicken wire and with a little help from Cody, I stapled it on to the back of the shelf and then trimmed around the edges.
It's now hanging on the wall in my living room with a little jar of frosted white rose buds.  I am slowly but surely turning this wall in to a gallery wall.
Our home projects kind of got put on the back burner when Cody went in for his second shoulder surgery in October.  He's still healing and they say it can take up to a year before the pain goes away.  I hope it gets better sooner than that!
So that's one of the reasons I have been MIA around here.  I am hoping to be a better blogger and a better DIY'er in this new year!
This is my first project of 2018 and I definitely love how it turned out!  I have 3 more of these shelves and lots of chicken wire so I think I will transform them all.
Thanks for stopping by and for sticking with me while I was no where to be found!  Hope you are starting 2018 with a bang!
